Grammar

Use case: Introduce the plain/casual style used with family and close friends, contrasted with the polite ます／です style used in all other contexts. Pattern: V（辞書形／ない形／た形）、Adj（辞書形）、N＋だ
- Example:
  - 書きます → 書く／書かない／書いた
  - かきます → かく／かかない／かいた
  - write / don’t write / wrote (plain forms)
  - 高いです → 高い
  - たかいです → たかい
  - expensive (plain form)
Use case: Omit particles such as を、へ、は、が in casual spoken conversation when the meaning is clear from context. Pattern: N（助詞省略）V
- Example:
  - ご飯食べる？
  - ごはんたべる？
  - Eat (rice)?
  - このりんごおいしいね。
  - このりんごおいしいね。
  - This apple is delicious, isn’t it!
Use case: Express contrast in casual conversation, equivalent to が in polite style. Pattern: 普通形＋けど、〜
- Example:
  - ちょっと辛いけど、おいしい。
  - ちょっとからいけど、おいしい。
  - It’s a bit spicy, but it’s delicious.
